tammyg1969 7 Posted March 18, 2012 Good morning all, 3 days since I got banded...I feel pretty good, still feel tight where the incisions are, but that gets better as I move around. I am curious as to why I've gained 2lbs since surgery and have't lost anything. I have a Protein Shake in the morning, chicken bullion in the afternoon, then another shake in the evening. In between I'm sipping on Water all day. I walk 10 mins every hour, or do house work. I'm just surprised at a gain and no loss. Is this normal?
Holly Dolly 575 Posted March 18, 2012 Look at all the IV fluids that were pumped into you. It's normal to gain a few pounds after the surgery. And what the heck are you doing housewoek after 3 days?!!!!
tammyg1969 7 Posted March 18, 2012 LOL, I'm not doing a lot of house work, just straightening up not like I should be anyway. I was thinking that it might be due to fluids during surgery. I thought maybe my body was going into starvation mode, and didn't want to let go.
jackieu 19 Posted March 18, 2012 Good to hear your doing well from your surgery. I am 5 days post op and I had not lost anything till this morning I got on the scale and finally 2lbs down so just give it a little more time you will be fine. I think its because of the fluids and that our body is swollen after surgery.

I didn't start "losing" until 7 days after surgery. Keep up the good work of walking and doing housework-that's why you're feeling so good. If you lay around all day you won't recover as quickly!!!
