Burning In Thighs After Surgery?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys. I am now 9 days post op and feeling great with the exception of tingling and burning in my thighs. It started the day of sugery and it tingles when sitting but when I am sleeping my thighs fall asleep and burn sooo bad, I havent slept well since before surgery. It doesnt even matter what position I sleep in. Has anybody else had this problem?

Nope, haven't heard of this one. Have you followed up with your medical team?

yes I mentioned it to my doctor at the hospital and they said it happens sometimes after surgery and that it should go away. I was hoping someone might have a tip for what helped them so I can get some sleep :-)

I think it might have something to do with how you are positioned on the surgery table...I have heard of this somewhere and that it does go away...

have you ever had back problems?? the nerves from the spine go down both legs. sciatic discomfort or pain in the legs could be coming from lower back issues. have you got any sort of rub you could use on your thighs?/ if it continues you may need to get it checked out?/ could it be from the position you were put in on the operating table?/ i dont know. i do know that various forms of discomfort and pain does come from lumbar spine though. Perhaps a chiropractor could tell you.
