Protien Powder

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a really good powder mix or protien drink that doesnt taste too horrible... An unflavored powder I can mix is sauces or soups... or a really good protien drink.

Anyone have any advice on anything decent tasting ?

I love Isopure low carb Dutch chocolate and creamy vanilla. Great taste. Slightly expensive compared to others but worth it so I don't feel deprived and can enjoy my "meal".

Beneprotein is the best unflavored Protein mix I've tried. I love Jay Robb tropical dreamsicle flavor. It took me 3 years to find that perfect flavor.

I have never found anything that I like.

What I do, every morning for my Breakfast....I use a blender, with 2 scoops of 100% whey, some frozen berries, a Protein supplement, and make my own shake.

I do this every morning before leaving the house...45gm of Protein to start the day!!

You can come up your own recipes, Peanut Butter, banana's, pineapple, whatever you like.

I sometimes add some yogurt, and sometimes add some benefiber.

Everything I need can be found at costco in large quantity, so lasts me quite a while.

I like unjury so far. I drink a chocolate splendor mixed with skim milk or vanilla mixed with trop 50 orange juice and some ice, reminds me of an orange juilus.

I think there is a limit to how much Protein our bodies can process at a time, like 30 g or so....

I received my Unjury sampler box today (2 of each flavor). I had the chicken flavored Soup for dinner, since I have not started my actually diets yet, I mixed in some steamed shrimp and broccoli with it. Pretty good soup with a kick. So I will definitely be ready when it's time for Clear Liquids.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
