LapBand Talk is Boring W/O Delarla

Recommended Posts

Damn, I can't keep up with PMs & e-mails to stay away, but someone pointed this thread out so I want to shout a quick thank you.

Heather, you just dropped out of a 3-month challenge yet feel the need to track your weight. Why?

I miss ya tooooooo. I don't care what anyone else says, it just ain't the same around here without ya. You bring alot of good to this place. It is just that some are too weak to handle the way you dish out the truth, but with weight lose comes self confidence so with that maybe they will survive in the end too.

"but with weight lose comes self confidence so with that maybe they will survive in the end too." Brilliantly stated, JoLynn. Let’s ride!

Which is why I'm currently working on forgiveness towards those who continue to instigate while "innocently batting eyelashes." I guess it's my innuendo radar that draws me back.

I’ve requested removal from the board, but how the heck am I supposed to miss everyone or stay away when I get 20 e-mails an hour asking me to come back. Stop it! But honestly, I wouldn’t even want to come here any more if it weren’t for badly needed comic relief. Everyone says I’m so funny, but all I do is plant a little seed and the rest of you write the show and get the board rolling.

I agree....we could use more DeLarla.....you were the first post I ever read hear & my first thought was, I have to read more. :couch2: Needless to say, I became addicted to LBT. I love it when someone calls a spade and spade. Maybe that's why I love Tony Stewart! DeLarla, you add spice. :clap2: I also am drawn to those who are more diplomatic. I think you can learn from all if you open yourself up to new ideas.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
