Mara005 70 Posted March 15, 2012 Has anyone had this procedure? I'm looking into this and was hoping to get some advice. Thanks!
Tahneesamson 41 Posted March 15, 2012 I'm having it done on April 2 with dr Adam smith! I'm super excited!
readyinTN 0 Posted March 15, 2012 Yes, I had it done on 1/24. I'm so happy that I did it. I haven't experienced the bandster hell that a lot of folks talk about on here and I think it is because I had the ilap. I have also not had a fill yet because of it. My surgeon said that he has seen a reduced number of fills in patients that opted to have the ilap vs. just getting the band. Others may have had a different experience but I think it was the right choice for me. Good luck!
NWgirl 574 Posted March 15, 2012 I have not, but know that I saw a plication w/banding thread out here somewhere... I can't seem to find the one I'm looking for, but you might check this out: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/topic/134487-new-lap-band-plus-plication-surgery/page__st__20__p__1651575__hl__plication%20group__fromsearch__1#entry1651575
Toddy 758 Posted March 16, 2012 I had lap band on 1/31/12. I had the option of plication with it. I didn't get it go for it. That is the ONLY regret I've had about my surgery. I could still go and have the plication, but I don't want to go through another surgery! Go ahead and do both. You don't have anything to lose... except the weight!!!!! twinmomleb 3 Posted March 16, 2012 I had the lap band & plication (iBand) done in November. It's a new procedure that is semilar to a gastric sleeve. They decrease the size of your stomach by stapeling it. This increases your weight loss success of the lap band & also deceases the chance of the lap band slipping. Tahneesamson 41 Posted March 18, 2012 Twinmom--how are u doing with the plication part?? My surgery is 4/
twinmomleb 3 Posted March 18, 2012 So far, so good. Just had 3cc's removed from the lap band on Friday... As it was too tight. The plication really keeps you from over eating. Which is a good thing. As it takes awhile for the lap band to be filled enough to feel snug.

With the plication, ur not suppose to need as many fills, correct? Have u had issues eating certain foods? Where did u have ur surgery done?
twinmomleb 3 Posted March 18, 2012 I used Dr Adam Smith @ FtWorth lapband. I have not been able to eat any type of bread or fried food, since my surgery in Nov. First of all it gets stuck & which hurts, then I end up throwing it up anyway. So I gave up trying. Everything else in small bites with alot of chewing, seems to be Ok.
