Is There Anybody Who Can Tell Me About Emedical Financing Solutions And Carecredit?

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately, I am without healthcare coverage, and the only way I can have WLS is to get financing. Can anyone tell me their actual experience with eMedical Financing Solutions? What about CareCredit? I heard that MedLoanFinance.com is a scam, so I need to check out financing resources carefully. Of course, their websites paint "perfect" pictures, so I need much more info than is given on their websites. How much in financing $$$ can you request? Appreciate any help on finding answers.

The hospital I work for ONLY accepts Care Credit for WLS. I have friends with it and they have not had any problems. I think they are probably the more reputable one you have mentioned

CareCredit can be used for so many places. I had filled out a thing for the medloanfinance.com and they contacted me with a work up of what they could loan me and the interest (which was crazy high). I would see how much you could get on approval through CareCredit and then look at other options.

I used care credit for mine. I have a 35 BMI with no health problems so I knew I would be self pay. Care Credit is through GE Money which does financing for most large purchases ( furniture, appliances, etc) very reputable company. Just ask the dr office what plans they offer. Mine would only give me 6 months no interest or I could pay an additional $500 to get 12 months no interest, so I opted for one of the long term fixed interest of 9.99% for 4 years. That way I know I could make the payments. Just applied on their website and gave the dr office my account number and that was it. No down payment required.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to ALL who replied to my question. I finally feel that I have straight answers from educated people. I was feeling as if everyone who receives WLS has the benefit of some type of healthcare coverage -- except me!

Folks seem very aloof about giving straight answers to people whose only option is to self-pay. Many say that it is an option, but beyond saying it ... nothing!!! Thanks a million! I really appreciate your straight answers.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
