Congratulations!! : )

I was banded almost a year ago as well and just hit the 100's today too (199.6 but I'll take it!)!

What are you going to do to Celebrate?

My initial instinct was still to go out for ice cream (::sigh::), but instead I think I'm going in for pedicure - no calories AND the high will last longer!!

Response to :SMMRSUE & PAPOOSE

it is called Accelerator, it is part of the whole biolean system (alot of natural weight loss meds/herbs) my doctor uses it for all his non surgical weight loss patients, but you can get it anywhere online, i tried just the biolean pills before we decided to do the band, but it made me feel like i was on diet pills to jittery and edgey, taking just accelerator i feel no different .. personaly i have never believed in herbal crap but he explained when i went in monday for a fill that he could make me tighter and tighter and eventually i could consume 500 calories a day and would not lose an ounce btw he didnt give me a fill but said after a few month with my metabolism increasing so would my appetite, that he would give me a fill then...i have been trying for over a month to loose 2 pounds and since taking them 3 days ago they are gone! soooo we will see

My next goal is 180 lbs ... that's what I weighed before I got pregnant with my youngest. And when I'm there, I'm going SHOPPING! Not sure where yet, but as long as it's not Lane Bryant (which I really am thankful for!), I'm happy!

It looks like we're on the same track - let's make a plan to share pics of our new outfits at the next goal! :)

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
