So I had fallen off the wagon and went back to my stupid eating habits. Luckily I hadnt gained anything but I had only lost 18 lbs since Sept 19th. On that day I got my first fill (3cc's) and everything kind of stayed the same. I have been able to eat just about anything I want and rarely got sick unless I swallowed something or drank milk right afterwards. I went back to the doctor this past Monday and he said he was going to bump me up some more. He filled it up another 3 cc's and sent me on my way. I followed the liquid/mushy stuff for a day..but on day 2 I had made some egg salad and was literally only able to eat maybe 2 or 3 bites of it before I felt it right at my throat. Mind you, I have never really felt any restriction before except when eating too fast. Today I brought some scrambled eggs with bacon and cheese and was able to eat 3 bites of it, and lunch was pretty much the same way. Do you think this is too tight? Or should I give it a few days and see if it loosens up a bit? I'm not hungry, tired...nothing. Just worried that I may not be getting enough in everyday. But after seeing those pounds stall for so long, Im actually happy to be feeling the restriction on a cup of food. Any suggestions?

If you are eating a cup of food, then you are eating the right amount! If you're not having issues with throwing up or not being able to get food & liquids down, I'd say it's okay. It all depends on how you feel.

I have problems with eggs....maybe now with restriction you do too?

I have problems with every type of eggs! Which stinks!!! I would wait a few days to see if it loosens a little! I have had that problem in te past and after a few days it got better, or I would get a fill and have no more restriction than I did before, then after about 3 or 4 days, I would suddenly notice that I had more restriction! Good luck!

Hmmm. I can't do solid food in morning. My band somehow loosens up as the day goes on. My first meal is always a very small, liquids experience. My failures to abide by this rule has resulted in past stuck episodes and vomiting.

Since you can eat some food you are not too right but you will have to make careful food choices to ensure you are getting the right nutrients. Happy losing. I was slow until my 3rd fill and have been good to go since.

i did read somewhere that some people have tighter bands in the mornings and it loosens up as the day goes on... so would you need to adjust your eating as the day goes on?

I've my tried raw eggs, just because the thought I it gross's me out! I can however eat egg drop Soup from the Chinese rest. But any time I've tried to scramble, fry, or eat hard boiled eggs, they usually come back up! I may get down 1 scrambled egg white if I eat it really slowly, but that's not even worth it to get out my frying pan!!

Do a couple of days of more liquidy foods and then try to advance the diet again...no meat for at least a week and eggs just may have to be off the list (for now)!

Raw eggs can have salmonella which can cause some very serious vomitting...they are out of the question for banded folks for whom vomiting can cause a slip or erosion! I sometimes eat 3-4 bites of food and I am done...one egg is plenty for me!

have you tried whipping it up in a bowl, with some mild and putting it in the microwave?/ watch it carefully... it makes a great scrambled egg.

I started purée diet today and I made one scrambled egg this morning ( with milk of course!) and after scrambling it, I chopped it very well with the spatula. I ate it slowly since this was my first food since being on liquids, but I had no issues and enjoyed every bite:)

eggs are tough- I can't eat them. Try eating whatever with a crunchy cracker- this helps me chew adequately. The sign of a too tight fill is if u can't keep down liquids

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
