Well it's been about 9 years since my lap band surgery and all I've ever lost is about 25 pounds total and I need to lose like 60 more. As I've been reading the blogs here I did this thing all wrong. It takes me sometimes an hour to eat but I eat and let it go down and then continue to eat until I'm done and I think that is the wrong way of doing this, can someone help? Also I love drinking wine and even though I'm realtively active I need to start utilizing my band the way it should have been done from day one, anyone has any suggestions?

Thanks!

My doctor says to measure out my food, 3 oz Protein and some veggies, and not eat for longer than 30 minutes, then be done even if I'm not done eating.

Measure out your food, maybe you need a fill, rededicate yourself to your health and you'll get those pounds off!!

I do that too (eating for like an hour), and I think I was told not to. As JustDoIt says, we should be stopping after 20-30 minutes, whether our plate is clean or not. Also, do you drink with meals? Gotta stop that! Eat your Protein first, then some veggies. Maybe you need a fill as well.

I do drink wine myself, and it's not something I'm willing to give up. Many people work it into their calories and you can too!

I use an Android app called "Lose It!" It tracks not only my calories but Protein, carbs, fat, sugar, etc. It's also handy for looking up nutritional value of foods when eating out so I can make smart choices. It's literally my bible. I highly recommend it.

My nutrionist suggested I stay around 1000 calories a day. At least 60g of Protein, no more than 20g of fat, and no more than 125g of carbs.

I've lost about 55 pounds in 2 months, so for me, this approach is working.

Good luck to you.

OK... so whats the scoop here.. the equation is pretty simple... how tall are you.. how much do you weigh.. what do you want to weigh.. and how long do you think you need to get there.. mix a healthy, calorically tuned diet with ample amounts of exerice.. and no excuses...and begin to melt.. from the inside out...

attitude... good food choices.... a positive mental attitude... a no quitter approach to weight loss.... patience through the plateaus.... no friends/family sabatoge....get an app for your smartphone or go on your computer to track your eating and your nutritional values.. do you really know how much cholesterol is ok to eat in one day? how about sodium? fats? carbs? protiens? A good eating and exercise tracker is an essential must.. a food diary.. an exercise diary.. a weight loss chart.. all tools to retain motivation.. a weigh in ONLY ONCE a week.... (ok twice if you must!!)... its a program.. a mental attitude. .. and a mission in life to turn yourself into a newer and healthier person.

Wow. I thnk you need several fills. I thnk you need to measure your food.. I guess it is ok to have the wine. (you will do it anyhow) Watch the calories it has though.

Are you eating bread? or any of the other things that we are not supposed to eat???:::::

bread, rice, Pasta. Cookies, Bagels, pies, candy, Potatoes, Didn't your doctor give you a list of what not to eat? or what to eat?

Dont worry you have a great bunch of people here.. We wont let this happen anymore.

But what about your fills and restriction? Let us know...

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
