colleenjoy 104 Posted March 13, 2012 I thought I should introduce myself. My name is Colleen and I am 40 years old (just last week). I have decided that now is the time to make the most of my life and get my weight under control once and for all. I had my first consultation with the surgeon yesterday and I have my psych eval next friday. I know many people i my situation, BMI 51, multiple co-morbidities would choose bypass, but I have decided that the band is the best option for me. Luckily for me, y surgeon is willing to work with me. I know it will not be easy, and it will take time, and I'm ok with that. I am making a lifestyle change, not going on another diet. I have read many of the posts on this board, and know that it will be a great resource for me through this journey.
MeredithMcFee 98 Posted March 13, 2012 Welcome aboard Colleen. This is a great support group filled with so much information and positive re-enforcement here. One of our own here, Jean McMillan wrote a book called Bandwagon which you can find on the ads here. It's a great "bible" if you will, to have on hand before, during and after having the lapband. I would highly suggest you buy it as there's so much information in it that we all can relate to. Good luck on your journey.
