It really sucks to say this out loud put i have to be real wit myself. Im starting to make bad choices. Ive been eating things that i know that i shouldnt. Im not make excuses because even wen im making bad choices, im telling myself you not suppose to b doing this. What is wrong with me im only 3months out and feel like i failing. I jus spoke with my brother about my current situation with my food choices. And he gave me the hard truth and the truth hurts i wanted to cry. Well wen we got off the phone i started crying. I just feel so weak. I need to get myself together and get my mind right. Where do i begin u know? This is harder than i ever thought it would b. by the grace of God i havent gained any weight but havent lost any for like 2 or 3 wks. I got dreams i have goals and its on me to reach them. I gotta do better i jus have to. LORD give me strength to do wat i need to do to achieve my goals. And it dont help that i dont feel any restriction. No more accuses. Put up or shut up. Thanks for letting me vent folks

Your not failing, your body wants what it wants at times. Don't deny yourself certain things. Take a small serving, drink a full glass of Water before every meal, increase your water intake, stop eating after 20mins. There was a month were I only lost 3lbs. The truth is as long as it didn't go up we are on the right track. It will get better. Take advantage of spring, pop your headphones on and walk you but off. God Bless.

Hey, take it easy on yourself! It's tremendously hard to change a lifetime of bad eating habits. Of course you're going to slip back into them! I see my guy doing the same thing. He too needs more restriction, and so far tonight after dinner he's been eating constantly - potato sticks, salad with lots of dressing, processed chicken breast, and now a banana with milk. Before this week he'd been just eating an Italian ice as a snack. He knows he has to get back to making better choices and stop bringing home peanuts and cashews, ice cream and chips, but habits of a lifetime are hard to break. You can do it. You've already made the hard choice of going through surgery. No one ever said this process would be easy. Keep those goals in mind, and start telling yourself you deserve to be healthy and happy.

"Im starting to make bad choices. Ive been eating things that i know that i shouldnt."

I have found that if I do not BUY it I can not EAT it. I only buy what I know I should be eating. I just love snack size baggies. I put just enough in them and know that is all I am to have. If I get sidetracked with a food idea I drink warm Water. Seems to cut the hungry.

I am only 1-30 to Present into this and food is not my issue getting up and moving is. So joining a gym closer to home.

I am assuming you have a psych doc? I feel this is a such an important part of the process and it sounds like talking to a professional could really help you talk through any issues you are having.

You are not failing! It's a marathon not a sprint. Take on day at a time, one meal at a time. We all have been there and you'll get over the hump too!

You're not failing, but you are recognising your challenges. That's great! It means that you can come up with strategies (like coming on here for support) to help you deal with and overcome those challenges.

keep up the great work. One day at a time....

I would imagine that only 3 months post op that u are still not experiencing a good restriction. You are not failing you are just impatient. Sometimes we need a person who cares about us to give us a slap on the wrist and tell us like it is ! Many of us didnt really feel good restriction till 4 or 5 fills i am sure u havent had that many fills yet being only 3 months out. What u are experiencing is bandster hell , u have a band, u dont lose weight for a few weeks and suddenly your world feels like its collapsing .. have hope things will improve the more restriction u get .. I would go back to see your doctor and see if another fill will help you. The band can never make good choices of food for you, but u seem to already know what the problem is from what you say, so stop buying that sort of food, get motivated, and get that appointment made :)

I wonder if you would have gained weight by now if you hadnt had the band :)

Good luck and dont let food/fat win !

What you are experienceing is Bandster Hell. You don't have any restriction yet, so your band is probably doing very little, if anything at all.

That means everything you are doing is purely on willpower. Same as though you never had the surgery.

If you were so good using will power and dieting, you would not have needed the surgery in the first place.

So, I know it's frustrating, but know that once you band is adjusted properly, it will start taking over your bad eating habits, if YOU let it. Some people refuse to change with the band, hold onto their old ways, and it is they that generally do not do well.

Ask yourself....Whay Did I Choose to Have this Surgery?? To motivate me to be better at Dieting?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
