tammyg1969 7 Posted March 12, 2012 Hi all, My surgery is Thursday March 15th. I know everyone heals differently but I was wondering if I'd be ready to make a 5hr drive alone 1 month later? Just wondering how everyone felt about that time?
elcee 3,342 Posted March 12, 2012 I felt fine. A month later you should be able to work, drive and go about all your normal daily activities with no problems. The most important thing is to plan your trip and take food with you that suits your postop diet at that point. And DO NOT attempt to eat anything whilst driving, it can result in you being stuck as you are not paying attention to how you are eating. Not fun and not pretty. Take Protein shakes, lots of Water so you can keep hydrated and do not advance your diet beyond your Dr's instructions.
Sue Magoo 71 Posted March 12, 2012 I agree, no problem after a week or so post surgery. Have fun! I think I've heard the expression "Failing to plan is like planning to fail." Think about this as you plan your trip, your grocery shopping, etc. Best wishes to you newbie! Sue
