Loneil 25 Posted March 12, 2012 I an on the full liquid diet until next Friday. I am have (3) 4 o. Meals and 2 shakes in between per dr instructions. I downloaded the app that counts your calories, was just curios, and it looks like I only had 500-600 Cal today. Which is basically what I have been doing. Is this safe? And is this normal? Not hungry:) but just worried.
honk 780 Posted March 12, 2012 My doctor didn't give me a calories count. During full liquids I had 3, 8oz cups of smooth Soup (tomato) 100 cal each, 3 Protein Shakes 200 cals each, and Jello. So around 900 cals.
waitingpatiently 250 Posted March 12, 2012 I assuming we are talking about pre-op: I'm at about 600 calories too. 2 Protein Shakes at 150 calseach=300 + a lean cusine or equivalent about (300 cals)= total 600 cals
Iryshgreene 2 Posted March 12, 2012 During the pre-op and post-op periods, calories aren't super-critical. Make sure you get in the Protein and fluids your doc told you to get in, then worry about calories if you are feeling shaky. Right after my first fill I was getting only about 500 calories in. My nutritionist told me that was fine for right after an adjustment. She said it will increase to around 1000-1200 a day, which is a good target for weight loss. I had to add some high calorie foods (nuts mostly) during this time if I felt too weak from so few calories. It worked itself out within a week of getting the fill.
