B-52 7,113 Posted March 12, 2012 New here and still trying to figure out how this works !! My surgery is scheduled for this Thursday . I'm getting nervous but excited ! For now, the best thing you can do is follow your Dr.'s instructions, and remember, the first 4 weeks is all about you healing and getting back to normal after having major surgery. It is NOT about loosing weight. Aslo, I would not take everything you read here too seriously, being a Newbie. It can make your head swim and only add to the confusion. Have the surgery, and listen to your Dr.
otters38 31 Posted March 12, 2012 I agree with B-52. It's easy to get pulled in by things that are shared on here. Although their doctors may have very good reason for what they practice, if it doesn't compare to what your doctor suggests, it doesn't mean either way is wrong. Take what you need from here (which is a lot of wonderful support), but be able to push stuff to the side too. Your dr knows more than any of us do on here You will do GREAT!! As I always told people before my surgery who asked me if I was scared or nervous.....I would tell them I am MORE scared about what will happen if I don't do the surgery and keep on the path I was on!! You can do it!

Ladybug28 73 Posted March 12, 2012 I agree, follow your doctors instructions, that's one thing I've really learned from being on this site. I'm on pre-op, surgery the 22nd. Excited to get it done and move forward on this journey. Don't worry you'll be fine and you'll be adding years to your life! Good luck on your journey!
