XOXOXO 18 Posted March 10, 2012 Hi all. I am 5 days post op now & everything has been ticking along beautifully - until this morning. As I was straining to get up off the couch, I felt something go pop in my tummy above my port scar & between my other incisions on the left. It didn't hurt & didn't think more of it. Well its happened again, twice, when I am getting up from the couch or out of the car. Something is definitely moving. It is freaking me out, is something wrong? Have I blown something already? It is starting to hurt a little now. Anyone else had this happen?
elcee 3,341 Posted March 10, 2012 You may have popped a stitch. Be careful when you get up and down, use your arms to help you not your stomach muscles. The best thing to do when you have a concern is to call your Dr's rooms. They will be able to tell you if you need to come in or not.
Joyce Real 21 Posted March 10, 2012 I had the same thing happen, and called my surgeon, and what they said is women have a round ligament that holds womanly things together. and it is in the spot where it can hang up on the port, they said after you lose a little weight it will quit happening. It only happened the one time for me. But it made me sore!
Dulci 108 Posted March 10, 2012 If you do anything that usually uses your abdominal muscles - getting up, laughing, coughing, bending, turning over in bed - gently press a soft pillow or stuffed animal to your tummy. It really helps to keep you from straining those sore muscles.
54Shirley 105 Posted March 11, 2012 I'd call my Dr. on Monday. You might have popped a stitch ! You need to be careful you don't need to tear the port away from the muscle that its stitched to, or a Hernia. So take it easy. It's probably nothing but, call your Doc....
