So, it's been really hard for me to find information about this and I think everyone has their own opinion about what a MINI thigh lift is. From what I've heard the standard inner thigh lift is either around the groin area and sometimes down to the knee...and in some cases it is just a 10" to 12" scar running along the pubis crevis towards and around the butt. One place described a mini thigh lift as I would understand it. She described hers as an incision around 4 inches. This would be ideal for those that don't have sagging all the way down to their knees, etc.

Most of my problems are in the front and inner thigh, definite improvement would be seen but I don't think the incision would need to be more than 3-5 inches tops. Anyone had this done or heard anything about it? I do have a consultation coming up but I'd like a cost estimate.

Ok, well just got back from my appointments with both lapband and plastic surgeon. What's planned for or what I atleast was/am planning for is a port revision, a Tummy Tuck, and a mini thigh lift. However, I got quoted 5400 for my tt and 3100 for thighs. That may just be the surgeon's fee. Who knows....Anyway, problem is, my doctor doesn't want to or think I should do the TT at the same time as my thigh lift. Anyone have thoughts? I feel like I'm already taking out so much time, I've got the support of my family, and it's going to hurt like hell anyway...I might as well do both.

I just had my consult today and was told the same thing! He does nit want to do the TT and Thigh Lift at the same time. His reason was because you would be under too long. Well that wasn't the only let down. He said the only really good results from a thigh lift are to do a groin incision with a vertical incision down the inside of your thigh! What the heck???? I have stupid skinny legs ( 17 1/2 inches at the fattest part), with no dimpling or celulite and I want a 10 " incision running down the inside of my thighs????? I don't think so. He's an excellent surgeon with a huge reputation. He says he will not do a surgery that he does not believe gives the best result possible. I am so disappointed! To think that after losing 80 - 100 pounds and I'll have to wear a skirted swimsuit the rest of my life is more than disPpointing. Trust me I have no visions of looking like a 20 year old! I just wanted to be able to wear. one piece suit at my favorite spot - the beach! The abdominoplasty will cost $7000 - everything included. The breast reduction will be $8000.

Ah yeah. My dr's reason was for the pain after. He said he could do the Tummy Tuck in an hour and a half, "since I don't have a very large abdomen". So, I don't think time is an issue. I'm pretty sure he thinks I cant handle the pain. I'm a wuss...I'm sure I couldn't but at least I'll be getting pain meds that work. After my lapband my pills didn't work so I went without any since day one. Though obviously, much less invasive...

This web page has a lot of good info about the thigh lift using the groin incision alone and with the veetical incision down the thigh. Sounds rediculously painful and explains why you wouldn't want to do both procedures at once!

Sorry that didn't help me much. I'm still worried about the infection rate with the inner thigh lift, but since my scars wouldn't be anywhere near my butt I don't think I've have the same problems with sitting. I plan on talking with my surgeon again just to clarify what I meant with the mini. He shook his head but...I've had too many experiences where they just don't listen. But I still plan to go ahead with surgery especially because I know I have the time now and support now, whereas in the foreseeable future (next 15 years) I will not have either. So it's kind of an all or nothing situation. Unfortunately.

re: the line/scar down the thigh - brachioplasty is the same problem - you're exchaning the bat wings for the line/scar. Still, i'm going to do it - will at least look better in clothes and if i have to wear 3/4 length sleeves even in summer so be it...

Oh yeah, my scar is neither going down my thigh nor around my butt. It will be a smaller incision only in the groin area, probably stopping halfway to my butt through the groin. So, it's mini. Not a full thigh lift, whose incisions would be either of the aforementioned.

if i had know then what i know now.... i would have done my breast reduction and lift at the same time as my TT. TT was 5 weeks ago today and the pain was so minimal for me. If you have children and possible had a c-section, i equate it to the same pain. I was up in three days and back to work in 12. I took pain pill for the first three day, mostly to sleep at night which i did in my recliner. I was still walking with a hunch/bend at week one and two, but by week three i was almost walking straight up... week four and five, completely back to normal. Still have swelling in the abdomen... but the scare is healing way better than i ever thought.

My dr. didn't uses drain tubes and he also stitched from the inside and glued the outer. So no staples.

Good luck with your PS.... Keep us posted

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
