Long Travel Time, Just To See The Surgeon, Any One Else??

Recommended Posts

Feeling anxious..

I had my first seminar, last week only to find out a few days later that my insurance wont cover that doctor because they only cover certain hospital/association. So I found another Doc that the insurance will cover.

The seminar is next week and I am wishing it was sooner.... so feeling very anxious to get the process started because I know it takes time before, I can get the surgery.

And on top of everything, the hospital/Doc is an Hour away!!!! so this whole process will be a pain due to all that travel I have to do.

Did anyone had to travel over an hour to go to your surgeon?

Jen

My travel time was over an hour. They were telling me at the center how people come there from different states even!

Mine was 4-5 hours depending on LA traffic...it was no fun but in the end it was well worth it. It caused me to have some very long plateaus when I needed a fill but couldnt get down there but now that I am in maintenance I think my slow loss and long plateaus actually helped me adjust to the band for lifelong changes.

Mine is 3 hours from home, but it gives me an excuse to go shopping in the big city and buy new clothes! They do fills once a month at a location 1.5 hours from home, but it is over a mountain pass and not a very good area so I would rather go over a different pass and enjoy myself while I am there!

my surgeon is 4 hours away... each way. since i was self pay, cost was an issue but when i met with him i felt the most comfortable with him than any of the other surgeons i met with. even 4 years later i can still email him and he'll answer any of my questions within 24 hours. yes, it was a hassle the first year while getting fills (or unfills) every month but you have to trust your surgeon and he was the one!

My doctor is over two hours away. I enjoy the ride. On the way I use that time thinking of any more questions I may have that I havn't written down. The trip back I thinking about what I have learned. My insurance would only pay for that place, because It is fee-base through VA. The trip home was a little rough. Just take some pain meds. befor leaving for home. Don't worry it will be ok, Good luck.

My surgeon is a 3 hour flight and 2 hour drive away. I get the fills done locally though. Or I will, rather.

My clinic is 3 hrs each way. Usually I get a motel and take my dog to the beach when I'm there - we make a day of it. I only go about twice a yr now anyway.

Got y'all beat! I drove 8.5 hrs one way for my doctor/surgeon. Did this for almost 5 yrs. The first 2 yrs I drove it every 3 months. After that it was on a need to basis but I went at least every 6 mos to have it cked. I finally decided it was time to find someone closer to home when I had to start taking medicine to keep me awake while driving...lol

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
