JohannaMae 9 Posted March 9, 2012 I just found out that I was approved and my date is March 20. I don't have a lot of time to do the post diet. Has this ever happened to anyone and did u have trouble with the size of your liver?

1shauna1 129 Posted March 9, 2012 Well, if they gave you that date, it must be okay. I didn't really have to do a pre-surgery diet, just eating healthy & low fat for a week beforehand. If you eat very clean I'm sure you'll be okay!
dhales 98 Posted March 9, 2012 JohannaMae - My surgery is scheduled for March 20th as well. I was given a pre-op diet...but it isn't strict like everyone else's. I just have to drink two Protein Drinks a day and eat a healthy lunch and dinner...stay away from carbs. I started 2 days late as well. I think as long as you eat well in the time you have left you should be okay. Double check with your doc for peace of mind....but it sounds like Protein is the key. honk 780 Posted March 9, 2012 Did you have a consult with your doctor and then got the date? If not call and ask that they confirm with him or her that they feel your are ready for surgery. My first consult was with a nurse practitioner who told me I needed to loose 35 pounds for surgery. At my first doctor consult I had lost 15 pounds. After feeling my lower abdomen he told me to continue to loose weight but that he could do the surgery that day based on the fat level in my abdomen.
xavier 153 Posted March 9, 2012 My doc just had me lose 10 pounds and I actually lost 8...no specific diet. Just do what your doc says...
