littlerlou 7 Posted March 9, 2012 Im having a really hard time getting in my Protein. My doctor said not to rely on shakes and powders...ok...so I dont...then he said to keep calories around 1000 and Protein between 60-70 grams. Im eating cottage cheese and meats..but it seems like to get enough protein in, I go over my calories... What are your non powder-shake protein tricks. I already eat tuna too and STILL having trouble balancing calories and protein.

honk 780 Posted March 9, 2012 Fat free Greek yogurt is more sour than the 2% fat. For Breakfast I have fruited Greek yogurt with 1/2 scoop whey isolate Protein Powder, tsp unflavored benefiber, and a couple packets of Splendra, and about 1/4 cup high Protein Kashi Go Lean Cereal. I say it's about 28 g of protein.

sassyfrass 24 Posted March 9, 2012 Yoplait coconut flavor is delicious. I am not a big fan of greek yogurt, normally. I did find that I like the Chobani brand, stawberry or peach, okay but, I finally tried the 4 oz. cups of Yoplait brand this week. I would never have known it's greek yogurt. I am a fan!it greek yogurt,
lellow 1,713 Posted March 10, 2012 Try softer Proteins, like fish and tofu or chicken thighs cooked for a long time. Eat slowly, chew well. Take your time. I never counted calories, avoided carbs or made a note of the amount of Protein I ate. I kinda let the band do all the work as far as Portion Control. And I lost weight. So eat well and maybe don't worry if you're not getting the whole 70g in.
