hey everyone... im super new to forums.. chats and not to mention the lap band... i decided to have my surgery because of medical issues last summer.... i was told i had endometriosis and weight loss would help the situation.. i just couldnt go thru life in the condition i was last summer so i decided to get banded. im 14 days out of surgery now... ive lost 22 lbs.. and now i seem to be frozen. im not loosing weight anymore.. im sticking to working out but have trouble sticking to meal plans. Im still home from work so it seems that every 2 hours or so.. im wating a piece of grilled chicken or having an oz or 2 of soup.. im not sure if thats the reason why ive stopped loosing weight. i find myself struggling to drink 64oz of water.. most times because im to afraid that if i drink Water i would become hungry and would be driven to eat... how do you guys over come this?

I am no expert and am only 2 days post op, but I have read about something called Bandster Hell, which is what you have just described.....the swelling and all if gone from your surgery and you feel pretty good eating lots of things. Some people put some weight back on during this time. ONce you get your first fill all will be well and the weight will start melting off again. I think you are right where you should be. They said it is hard to stick to it during Bandster Hell because you are able to eat. Just make good choices the best that you can, and get your count down going for your first fill. Good Luck!

Yep, Bandster Hell and totally normal as you heal and get your appetite back. It is great if you just dont gain in the next few months until you get enough fill to make it easier!

My last attempt at dieting consisted of the nutrisystem-d program. My doctor says to continue eating the meals after the band(recovery), which are nutritionally balanced and more than enough portions to eat with the lap-band anyway. Just a suggestion. Oh and the nutrisystem meals actually taste pretty good.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
