Gm all my fellow springy springers. I am up this morning awaiting a phone call from the RN for the Carewise program. This is my last phone call from her. THen i have one more from the dietican then its up to them to turn in the info and get me approved. I wish it was the 22 already so i would know the package is turned in and I would be days away from hopefully approval.

SO how are each of you this morning. For some of you its just days away from the big day. Wow I am a tad jealous. Wish it was me but then I had always planned an april date since i found out i couldnt have it the month after i went to the seminar... LOL Ok i was a bit nieve to think i would get it that easy with no hoops to jump though. Just wanted to pop on and say HI.

Ok the Rn call went great. She said oh i am looking for you to have a mid april surgery date. I was well i am already planning on an April 25 day she felt that was a good date to plan that my insurance will be approved by then. She said that once i talk to the dietiacan on Friday that she felt that it would all be ready to be submited to the insurance. I am so excited!!! one more step towards my goal...

That's AWESOME Deb!

The reality of all of this is starting to settle in now and I'm looking for more and more information.

Sharing this with all of you has been my best resource. Feel like I have a ton of reliable friends I can turn to.

Congrats!

That's great news, Deb! The time will likely pass quickly as busy as you are staying.

Julie, you are absolutely right about this group! Thank you for starting it.

I know once i am approved the time willl pass quickly. I am in the middle of preparing for vacation which happens April 7 and i will be in florida for 7 days. So that will sure keep me busy. I am of course going to be pin and needles till i am approved. I hope friday when i talk to the dietican again she gives me a better idea of when i might be approved.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
