Anyone Here Use True Results - Richardson, Texas?

Recommended Posts

I think they are so nice there - i'm just worried because the Dr. there is in my preferred doctors list for United Healthcare - their facility is not. I think i will still go to them for the 6 months prior to surgery so that we cross all the "T's" and such and follow United Healthcare's checklist - but I will have to use a hospital for the inpatient surgery. Does anyone know that if you use a hospital for your lapband - are you required to stay overnight? only concern is that i live alone, and maybe the first evening having a little help would be nice.....

I am using True Results in Richardson as well. I have aetna and will have to have my surgery done at Trophy Club. My surgeon is Dr Fox and we are tentatively scheduled for June 1. I have completed my 2nd visit. For my third, I will have my ekg, blood work and psych eval done. The staff at True Results are amazing. They have made me feel very comfortable at both of my appointments so far.

great news....I think the staff there is great as well.... Did you get a letter from Aetna saying it was all approved?? I called UHC bariatric number and had an appointment today for their nurse to call me, but they didn't call - so i emailed them to make sure they had correct timezones and phone number - apparently the nurse who was to call was sick today.

I received in the mail this weekend a package from United Healthcare - but no real Letter of Approval.... was wondering if we get that, as I want every piece of info in my file....I hate surprises...like someone here posted that surgery was tomorrow and now her surgery center is not part of the network...

It is my understanding that you don't actually "apply" until you have meet all of your insurance requirements. My requirements are a 4 month multidisciplinary surgical preparatory regimen, 2 visits with dietician, ekg, blood work, weight history from primary care physician and psych evaluation. They are planning on submitting to insurance the first of May, and hopefully I get approval in 1-2 weeks which would then allow me to have surgery on June 1. Good luck to you.

Seriously....it's not PRE APPROVED??? ok now I'm wigging out...I could go though 6 months of visits - and testing all to find out at the very end that something changed or whatever and I'd not be covered. omg....I wanted this to all be pre-approved and done going through UHC requirements prior to the surgery.....jeez. yikes.....

I hope you get your insurance worked out. As for the first night after surgery, if you don't have anyone to stay with you, you probably should stay overnight in the hospital. You'll be woozy from the anesthesia and will probably need IV pain medication and IV fluids to keep you hydrated, since you won't be able to drink more than a sip at a time. They also have to make sure you can urinate before you go home. I don't blame insurance companies for insisting on one night in the hospital. It's far too risky both for you and for them if you go home the same day as abdominal surgery.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
