Mish1908 12 Posted March 4, 2012 I need some help on my belly button. I had surgery on Jan 9th. My belly button incision is healing I guess, but the smell worries me. More importantly, I went to clean it tonight and noticed than I can see a flap of meat(so to speak) inside of my belly button. I had my fiance look at it closely to tell me if I need to be more concerned and it appears to still be attached inside my belly button. SOMEONE, PLEASE tell me if this is normal or should I be high-tailing my butt to an emergency room?????
Cazzy 725 Posted March 4, 2012 It sounds like you should get your surgeon to check it out, doesnt sound like an ER job but the last thing u want is an infection setting in if it isnt closed properly. Having said that some people do have belly buttons that are bumpy and skin flaps inside them so it may be just normal but get it checked out anyways just to be on the safe side Incisions shouldnt smell no matter how small they are, but belly buttons can be a little smelly in general so get that appointment made and put your mind at ease .. good luck ! shakey88 37 Posted March 4, 2012 When I had my gall bladder removed, I had the same issue wit my belly button. I went to the surgeon and he checked it out and it was infected. He just gave me some meds to clear up the infection. I would call the surgeon's office!
