Band Feels Too Tight???????

Recommended Posts

Kay here's what happened I can't really eat any kind of amount of food but I can drink Water. It feels like my band is to tight but the last time I had an ajustment I had my band unfilled because I was experiencing the same thing that time. But I really want to know if this has happened to anyone else. Months after an ajustment my band gets tighter I'm confused could it be signs that my band is close to slipping? Help please!?

Hello! First I would tell you to see your doc! It is strange that the tightness came virtually out of nowhere! But I don't think I'm too worried. For sure though, you should NOT live with a band so tight that you can only keep liquids down. Good luck!

This happened to me twice. I got a fill in November and had good restriction and then all of sudden my band got so tight I could barely even get Water down. I went about 5 days on hit fluids thinking it was just swollen until I finally called my Dr. Then I got an emergency unfilled and the prn said it happens sometime. Then about a month after that my band got tight again over night and I went in for another unfilled. It's so strange when it happens, so trust me call your Dr.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
