skbishop78 0 Posted February 21, 2006 Just wondering if this is normal, which I am sure it is....but I have gained 6 lbs since my surgery...I can tell my stomach still has sooooo much gas in it so I am sure that is what it is! DId anyone else do this? Just wondering?
PhotoNut 7 Posted February 21, 2006 Me too! I was so pissed! LOL It was gone within a couple of days. I was told it was Water retention from all the fluids that were pumped into me via IV. Welcome home and grats on your band!

lianna 3 Posted February 21, 2006 Yep, 6 lbs gain the first day home here also. I couldnt come close to wearing my same denim capris that I wore to the hospital, I looked 6 months pregnant.
EmileeKaye 1 Posted February 21, 2006 I didn't get weighed after surgery until my first office visit....I can understand being upset seeing that you gained. Glad I got to wait. Congrats on the Band!
asbrown 0 Posted February 23, 2006 Didn't gain but my belly was huge like I was 9 months pregnant. Anita
nightingale2u 42 Posted February 23, 2006 They pump you full of fluids ... don't worry... it's very temporary. I know I had a gain directly post-op as well... it'a a little hard to swallow seeing a gain but try and focus on healing ... the pre-fill stage is not necessarily a big weight-loss time. La_madam 20 Posted February 24, 2006 Be happy it was only 6 pounds..I gained 15 from surgery..dont worry it will go away, it is from th IV's and the gas they pump you up with..you are normal..
