Amanda1982 142 Posted February 28, 2012 Does anyone who has lost a bunch of weight, still go straight to the plus size section when shopping? If so why? I think it's a mental thing, what do you think? 2 MeredithMcFee and Allison0927 reacted to this

Cazzy 725 Posted February 28, 2012 I keep making that same mistake all the time, i also still buy clothes that are too big for me .. body is thinner than my mind still ! 2 Allison0927 and Imanurse reacted to this
#MagicWithinme 173 Posted February 28, 2012 Totally mental, how long have we had this image of ourselves big? That's not something that's gonna change overnight. even though our bodies are growing smaller. The mind and body haven't synced. My thing is I will still wear the XL stuff, its a comfort thing for me. Although I did get rid of the really big stuff that just hung on me. and I have been buying smaller stuff, just haven't worn it yet. I never wore close fitting stuff before.. I know I have gone into a store and the lady was very very nice and she helped me buy some pants, and try on different things. We are now into the numbers ladies, not the XXs anymore..! 3 Allison0927, chrissylu and MeredithMcFee reacted to this
corianna 8 Posted February 28, 2012 can someone explain to me how to do the weight ticker?????????ITS SOOOOOO CONFUSING
xavier 153 Posted February 29, 2012 I seriously could not make myself push the order button on a bunch of size 6 pants from the Gap...I know thats my size but I just thought they would arrive and never fit! So I went to the Gap and took every pair of size 6s (each type of cut or fit or style) in the dressing room and of course they all fit. I hurried home to order the petites I needed before my belief in the 6 evaporated...weird! Today I tried on a size small blazer at Bass and it fit perfect. I decided to get another one in a different color and it almost killed me to buy the small without trying it on! I tried it on as soon as I got home! 1 MeredithMcFee reacted to this

cunner 21 Posted March 1, 2012 I know exactly what you mean. It takes a while to get over some things. It was almost 14 months post surgery (just a couple weeks ago) that I pulled 3 big trash bags full of my big clothes out of the crawl space where I was saving them "just in case" and dropped them off at goodwill. My wife took up calling me a Diva because I would come home with a something new every couple weeks. The fact is I had to replace an entire wardrobe so coming home with a new pair of pants or a couple new shirts or a belt once every couple of weeks is not unreasonable. I've spent more time in dressing rooms trying on different sizes that I had the the previous 40 years combined.
Jenn1214 120 Posted March 2, 2012 I just went shopping today as a matter of fact...it's a strange feeling shopping in the "regular" section now. My brain can't wrap itself around the fact that I've lost 75 pounds and that Lane Bryant is no longer an option for me! 2 Moe-Moe and MeredithMcFee reacted to this
Sunshyne068 97 Posted March 2, 2012 I cant wait until Lane Bryant, Ashley Stewart, Old Navy "Women's", Macy's "Woman's World" and the like arent my go-to stores anymore. I dream of the day that I can go to H&M or the regular section in Forever 21. 1 Allison0927 reacted to this
Lluna 14 Posted March 2, 2012 I'm happy to report that I paid off my Lane Bryant credit card, and knowing that I don't have to shop there anymore...I was a size 20pants and 18/20 tops.. I sure they miss me at my local Lane Bryant store they already knew me by my first name... Now I CAN shop where ever I like I'm on size 12 jeans, and L tops. But it was hard to make my mind catch up to my body. 2 MeredithMcFee and Allison0927 reacted to this
Sojourner 2,446 Posted March 2, 2012 (edited) can someone explain to me how to do the weight ticker?????????ITS SOOOOOO CONFUSING I agree...the ticker is a bit confusing, as it is an external link. I believe the ticker is also a great tool for motivation and to chart progress towards your goals. My understanding is that you can click on someone's ticker, and it will take you to the link, where you can follow the prompts and create your own. Hope that information helps...I still don't quite understand them! Good luck!! Edited March 2, 2012 by Sojourner
lorena st 33 Posted March 2, 2012 I have the opposite problem...I now avoid the plus size section. I always hated having to shop there, but I didn't have any choice. It's really nice to be able to find clothes in my size in the "regular" side of the stores. My biggest issue is that I don't really know what size I am (as I still avoid the changing rooms with all those mirrors) and I end up at home with clothes that are too big or too small. I need to get over my changing room issues or take a tape measure with me when I shop!

kll724 3,055 Posted March 2, 2012 My biggest problem is finding room in an overflowing walkin closet!! Using my husband's side, now for summer clothes. I have a husband who loves to take me shopping and help me find my 8's. He loves a sale, and never liked my taste in clothes. I do have to remind him that I am 63 years old, and can't wear my dresses 3 inches above my knees for church. 1 Sunshyne068 reacted to this
