It really depends on you. My doctor told me whenever I feel ready. It was a little over a week.

my md said two weeks after surgery "I can hangglide and whatever else I wanted to do". But I agree its upto you, and what you feel comfortable with.

I didn't even think to ask my doctor, and didn't even think about it being an issue until I saw someone post the question on here. Since I didn't ask, I just went with how I felt, for me that was four days post op. Everything was fine, I just would be careful of having any weight on your incisions. wink.png

Just be on top! I had no issues with that and I think I had sex 2-3 days after my surgery.

It is just like having a baby and they say to wait 6 weeks. There is all sorts of healing going on inside. You might feel fine, but your body is not completely done doing its job! My post op directions say 3 weeks. So that is what is happening here! My husband is counting the days :)

when I was rebanded, I had sex a week post op and a few days later someone asked this question and I was like ohhh yea I had sex without even worrying like a week after.

Sometimes, other things are more on your mind ;)

My doc orders say wait at least 2 weeks. I think the longer you can hold off the better. You won't want to cause problems for yourself. You have been through too.much to mess it up.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
