Alot of respect.

At the Bandster bash there was a number of folks who had the chance to "step

up to the mic" and tell what the band has done for them or what it

means to them. but there was one who id like to mention that really

stood out above all others.

i dont remember her name but she has so much courage and

determination that you could really see in her eyes.

I cant even tell you how much wieght she has lost. by her before

photo im going to say around 50 - 60 pounds.

She couldnt even finish what she wanted to say and had to have

someone else finish for her because she started to cry.

BUT there she was, with the same band we all have to loose weight.

MOST of us are above the 30 year old mark,

and there she was at only 12 years old.

out of everyone there i had the most respect for her, her courage

and her determination.

I'll always have memories of the fun at the bash, the doctors and

the people. Alot of those memories will fade with time, but i pray I

never forget her.

She will always have my respect.

Yes, that was great! I was sitting at an adjacent table to that young lady. What courage! You could just see how much being banded has meant to her and how much it will mean to her in the future.

The other thing at the bash that was meaningful for me was the panel discussion. I'm pre-band and the thought of erosion was very heavy on my mind. It was great that they started with the topic of erosion. I still hate the thought of it but it's not going to stop me from moving forward.

I attended the bash to get additional information but had mostly decided I was going to be banded in India. After seeing the great Dr.s on the panel I knew the approximately $2K I would save going to India wasn't worth it. I gave a deposit to be banded by Dr. Ortiz that day and scheduled me date yesterday for late April. Can't wait.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
