I was so excited to have scrambled eggs tonight! I am not a huge egg fan, but the thought of eating something that wasn't a liquid was all I needed. I cooked the egg and I took one bite, that was all I needed! I have been so nauseous! I can't even stomach Water at this point. My nutritionist said that my strong aversions towards foods with soft consistencies would be a tough hurdle. Does anyone have any ideas of foods I can eat that isn't yogurt, pudding, cottage cheese or tofu? My husband recommended purée Mac and cheese but I didn't think that would be a good choice.

I welcome all suggestions! :)

What about mashed potatoes and gravy from KFC? I know they aren't very healthy, but my dr said to not worry so much about calories, but rather get your body back to a good point. If you mix in enough gravey they would be very thin. Their mashed potatoes are very smooth as it is, just thick. oatmeal?? I don't like it either, but it's good for you. I was also thinking some Soup from Panera or somewhere that you could blen further to break down and maybe add some chicken broth??

Good luck to you. I will be there soon!!

I've even had a few pieces of chicken too, missed the biscuit n honey but the mash potatoes and gravy make up for it. I do a lot of Beans, baked potatoes, with a piece of laughing cow cheese sprinkled on top melts great, and I only eat as much as I feel like.

Grits? Cream of Wheat? Refried Beans, you can mash them a bit more. Cauliflower can be mashed up. Bananas. Applesauce? You could even bake apples and mush them up. Humus. Just about any beans can be mooshed up.

I loved doing pear sauce. You make it just like applesauce with pears. Add a touch of vanilla and it's sweet without adding sugar! I also made some homemade cream of broccoli Soup. It 'felt' more like real food to me than other stuff.

If you have a Trader Joe's near you, that's a good place to start. Like cocoabean mentioned refried Beans. I add TJ's guacamole/hummus to it and some of their salsa. Just had it for dinner.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
