readytogoforit 172 Posted February 26, 2012 I was always freezing in the beginning after my surgery! I usually wear layers now! Probably the big change in our body, we've lost the extra layer of fat!
sweetsoutherngirl 32 Posted February 26, 2012 I had to lose weight before I had my surgery and I am always cold!! I guess we did lose the fat layer! LOL!

pen527 6 Posted February 26, 2012 I am always FREEZING! Everyone chokes when they come in my office because I have the heater set at 89. I live in FL and I'm cold at the beach if it's anything under 95. What happened???
jayres14 17 Posted February 26, 2012 I used to be hot constantly! Now I am always cold. Even my students at school complain for the first time that my room feels like a sauna! I am actually excited about this change and looking forward to a new outlook and perspective of summer!
proshooperLinda 7 Posted February 26, 2012 like all others I was a very warm person - now I'm freezing and my hands are always cold! It's been 16 months since surgery and it's getting better! I'm not too hot during the summer and that's a good thing! I find myself holding hot coffee or sugar free cocoa in the evening! It will get better - honest! Caribear 184 Posted February 26, 2012 I just came across this article not too long ago... it is specifically for gastric bypass patients but I think it applies to anyone who has had any weight loss surgery. http://ezinearticles.com/?Im-Freezing!-Why-Gastric-Bypass-Causes-Patients-to-be-Cold&id=34757 2 Wishingtobesmall and sweetsoutherngirl reacted to this

MeredithMcFee 98 Posted February 26, 2012 OK these days I am colder then before I use to be a hot nature person my feet and hand it's crazy has anyone have this happen to them after major weight loss ????? I've always found this to be true anytime I've lost weight over the years. The good thing I'm finding is since the surgery, I've yet to have one hot flash and I'm on hormone replacement!!! I'm happy about that. Also hoping this summer I'll see an improvement in my handling the hot weather. It's all good.
B-52 7,113 Posted February 26, 2012 Yep...me too. No longer have all the "Whale" or "Seal" Blubber. Sitting here watching TV and I need that electric heater pointed at me!
Mr. Green 3 Posted February 26, 2012 I agree!!! I would be sitting around in shorts and a T-Shirt pre-weight loss in the middle of winter on a night in the teens. My wife would be in sweat pants, sweat coat, and a blanket with the heat cranked up. NOW, I am freezing and have to wear more than my shorts and a T. Its amazing what weight loss an can do to your body.

gottobeme 81 Posted February 26, 2012 I love this thread and thanks Caribear for the link. I have crossing guard and recess duty at school and even though we have had an extremely mild winter I have found myself colder than I was last year. I have even worn two winter coats at one time some this year. I thought it was probably related to the loss of insulation...now I know I'm not alone!
