It's so ironic that this topic was posted!

I was out yesterday and really needed some new bottoms to wear to the gym so I swung by Old Navy not sure if there would be anything...well...there was. I had my choice of everything. I couldn't believe it. I had a moment when my whole mind shifted. I had to tell the girl showing me the pants "those I know will be too big." "That's a good thing, right?" she answered. And then she handed me the next size down. HELL YES!

I am now out of W sizes! What? I still can't help but look online, in stores. It's another mind shift that I still am wrestling with. Weird. And I kinda feel like I don't deserve it. Until I look at my scar as I slid on smaller pants.

My mind is still blown and now I know what my psych doc and I will have something to talk about!

Thanks for posting! I'm relieved that I'm not the only one in this boat.

I am not sure of the size difference either. But i am sure you will be to those sizes sooner than you think. I went down from a 20 to a 14 pretty quickly and have been slowly getting to a size 10 over the last couple of months. 10 was my initial goal and I think I will make it. I can fit in some 10's now but would like to lose a little bit more to make it so they fit with no problems. Keep up the work, you will get there!!

Whenever I buy a size 6 (I think I topped out at a 24) I always think a camera crew is going to jump out from a dressing room saying that the joke's on me. I never get used to it. I could wrap my head around everything down to a 12, but I'm so used to buying the biggest size available and old habits die hard.

I dont think my face and neck look that bad. Alot of people say I look younger. The one thing that is not going to go back in place are my thighs. I think even if I worked out until the cows come home i will not have 20 year old thighs again :).

Good luck to you. I think you will look great. You are going to feel better no matter what and there is always makeup !!! :)

A size 6?? that would take some doing to get used to. I have looked at those sizes and they are really really tiny!!! Congrats. I dont know if I could imagine myself that small.

yep.. there is. i should send a pic of me twenty five years ago. i had no major weight issues then but than i didnt have joint replacements plus arthritic feet either.. lol. i would love to be able to get back into bathers again.. i just love swimming. this is the first two years in a long time that ive just been way too self conscious. before i would pick my times and swim privately.. and now i cant stand the look of me in bathers so i dont go at all.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
