I got lots of SF Jello, chicken, beef and veg broth, soy Protein Powder, Isopure liquid, carnation SF Breakfast mix, carnation dry milk powder, tons of crystal lite, lite apple juice, and lite cranberry juice. (is Cranberry juice ok) I never saw anyone mention it. Im ready as ever, I do have a few questions if anyone can help me. I have always been a stomach sleeper, I know I have to try to sleep on my back for a while but is sleeping on your side or stomach been a proble for anyone? also when I return to work on Monday how will i eat my liquids, is there a certain time, I work from 8 to 5, I will bring my juice, Protein mix, jello to work, but do I eat a few small bites throughout the day? thanks!!

First off....Congrats. You are making a good move doing this.

You will be sleeping on your back for a couple of days, there is just know way around that. Get plenty of Slimfast to keep on hand, and all your juices is fine.

You will be fine, and Good luck.

Any Slimfast is okay. I use to hate to drink them, but once you start getting your fills you just get use to them. I really like them alot now.

Oh, DAA! Good luck with your surgery!

I am a stomach sleeper, too. I remember that it took me a week to be able to sleep on my stomach. That first week I slept on my side with pillows. It's not sooo bad.

My best pre-surgery purchase: a KitchenAid food processor. I've run through three cheaper food processors in my adult life and they all sounded so loud and scary. This one is a quiet whirrrr. I love it. It's great for making purees.

Me, I tried to eat "meals" of puree. I didn't have much trouble staying satisifed with drinkable yogurt, Protein drinks, cottage cheese, and pureed Soups.

As for Protein Drinks, I love J Robb's whey powder (chocolate). Very tasty and not gritty at all.

Best wishes,

Diane

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
