Rewards For Weight Loss.

Recommended Posts

Does anyone out there reward yourself with gifts for weight loss. If so what do you use. I always do better if there is some incentive. So I have decided that I will gift myself with a Pandora Braclet for the weight loss. One charm for each 20 lbs. That way i can wear it all the time and remind myself the journey i am going to be on.

That's a great idea! I am all for rewarding....except when it comes to food treats. I learned first hand that it's not a good idea to reward yourself with food for meeting a mini goal.

I like your idea. I used to sometimes treat myself to spa days, a new outfit, etc.....things like that.

I go shopping for new clothes, but only stuff on sale, as I won't be wearing it for long (hopefully). Each 20 pounds I lose is about 1 size, so every couple of months I pick up new jeans and tops. It is nice going to regular stores again and going through the sale racks. I like the charm idea...that is a great way to remind yourself of what you are doing.

Great ideas! I like the charm idea too. To wear a constant reminder daily about keeping health and ourself first.

The five dollars is a great idea too. I figure I can always play with or rub the charms if i need to controll my desire to eat. Sorta like the rubberband on the wrist idea for stop smoking.

I did the Chamilia Bracelet which is similar to pandora. Each of the big beads is 10 pounds and there are 7 on there. I wear it and am reminded of what i have done and what I continue to do. I think the rewards are very important because we are trying to change our behavior.

I have also see a cute set of two decorated glass jars labelled "lost pounds" and "pounds to go" with beautful colored beads of glass in them that you transfer over. It was a really cute craft project..I think its important to have a reward or rewards that will last forever.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
