This is what is meant by bandster hell. You stomach has healed from surgery. The band is empty and you can eat like you used to. Becasue you can does'nt mean you should. At week three I was allowed smooth Soups (tomato, squash) and cottage cheese or ricotta (non fat) and sugar free Jello. In the evening I would have 8 oz Soup and an hour later the cottage cheese, later when I was hungry I would have jello. Make sure you are measuring out your Protein (3 or 4 oz) when it gone stop eating.

It usually takes 2-3 fills before people start feeling restriction. Prior to that, we have to rely on will power. It's not easy but it is possible.

Honk is right- be sure to measure your food and stop eating when the measured portion is gone. Always eat Protein first. I use an Android app called "Lose It!" to track my calories as well as nutrients daily. It really helps me to stay within the desired food range.

I was banded on Jan. 6th and just had my first fill on Feb. 10th. I'm still hungry every 2-3 hours so for me, I find spreading my food intake into 6 small meals works much better than 3 bigger meals daily. I am hoping that once I have more restriction I'll be able to go 4 hours without being starving.

Also, I eat no more than 1000 calories per day and am sure to get at least 60g of Protein daily. So far, for me, it's working beautifully.

I know the feeling! I am almost 4 weeks out of surgery, and I feel like I never even had surgery! The plication helped me out I eat almost like normal, and I have dropped almost 30#'s, and I know I have not been eating right, but I take it one day at a time- everytime I get hungry I drink water- then I waitunitll I know I'm really hungry....but not ravenous....

Ii was banded Jan. 30. I have lost about 25 pounds. I am the same way about being able to eat. I have noticed though, when we go out, I eat about a third of what I would eat before. Plus no bread or carbs. I am only eating Protein. I ave hit a plateau for over a week. I get my first fill on the 29th and I hope this will help.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
