Ladybug28 73 Posted March 24, 2012 Hello! I am getting banded on the 27th! So excited and yet so nervous! Gig41 no need to be nervous, you'll be out before you even realize it. I just had my surgery yesterday and it was a breeze. I'm tender and it hurts to get up and down but other than that all is good. Just think of things that make you happy and why you're going lap band....keep your eye on the prize, you'll do great! Deb 1 yvonne74 reacted to this
meemee626 0 Posted March 24, 2012 Hi all! Ladybug28 is right, you will be out before you know it. I had surgery on the 22nd and went grocery shopping with my mom yesterday, little more than 24 hours after surgery! Got a good nap after but wasn't too sore. This is a very blunt question but for all you out there that have had the Lapband done, how long before you had a bowel movement? Thanks!
mandagay 93 Posted March 24, 2012 If u do not have a BM by the third day u should take milk of magnesia according to my doc. It made me feel soo much better. I was really hurting day four because of not going

Ladybug28 73 Posted March 25, 2012 Meemee...since I hadn't gone by Thursday morning after I got home I took a tablespoon of MOM and went this am.....I don't let it go for more than two days max. My doctor gave me a prescription also to keep things moving. Deb
meemee626 0 Posted March 25, 2012 Thanks guys! Things came out...fine! My left shoulder keeps hurting but I've been pretty active. I plan on actually walking around the neighborhood today to see if that helps. For all of you experienced bansters, when does the stomach swelling go down? Thanks, Amy

My gas pain was in my neck the whole time!
