loseit 28 Posted February 15, 2012 I will have my 2 week post-op appointment in two days. How much should I be able to eat at this time? I am getting hungry. I am afraid I am eating to much?
Holly Dolly 575 Posted February 15, 2012 Where you are at now, I was having 3 shakes a day and having broth, sugar free Jello and popsicles. I had my postop visit at 12 days and she said I could start food that night. I started eating fish every day after that for awhile. What are you eating now? honk 780 Posted February 15, 2012 I was allowed to move to mushies (3oz protein) on day 15 postop. Week two I was allowed 3 Protein Shakes a day and 3 8 oz servings of full liquid Soup (tomato) and sugar free Jello. I had my check in at day 12 and asked if I could move to mushies early. The answer "absolutely not!"
Fit in my 60's 25 Posted February 15, 2012 It's funny how doctors give different advice. My doctor just called to check on me. I am one week out from banding. He told me I could start "mushies" on Sunday. And he said this, "You can eat anything you can mash down with a fork." Ha! First thing that popped into my head was a vision of me trying to mash down a steak!! Which, of course, I won't do, but still that advice gives me a lot of leeway I think. I will have to experiment with foods though to see what I can tolerate. It sure brightened my day. And I've lost 5 lbs in the first week. So far, so good.
