They then told me BCBS asked them a few questions and approved me over the phone! Can this really be?? I want to call BCBS so bad and find out for sure but I don't want to stir the pot...... OMG!! OMG!! I didn't even tell anyone yet but you guys, i been lurking for weeks and would not have as much info as I do now if it was not for you!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.... Do you think this is correct? It must be. I'm prob just in shock.. OMG, OMG, OMG!!! 1 Caribear reacted to this
bluetigereyes 95 Posted February 13, 2012 First of all....CONGRATS!!! My insurance did the same thing (and I have a BCBS plan as well). It all depends on the coverage that your employer elects for the policy. I had my surgery Dec 22nd and did not have an issues with the insurance processing my claims. Everything got paid within a month of my surgery. Dont pinch yourself too hard, this is real, you are one step closer to reaching your goal!
Humming Bird 275 Posted February 13, 2012 It could be correct, but I would still wait to get something on paper. I would guess if it is correct the ins. company will mail you something automatically.
mizpk83 9 Posted February 13, 2012 Congrats.... thats is great looks like the insurance companies are on the roll. I thought my approval would take 2 weeks or say by reading with others were saying it only took 2 days.

bluetigereyes 95 Posted February 13, 2012 KR, I am doing well. I did have a minor complication, my port has flipped. I am going in today to have my port flipped back over and get my fill. I was supposed to get my first fill on Feb 1st, but due to my port flipping, that had to be postponed. I am looking forward to getting my first fill and being able to start to feel some restriction. I am told all the time that I dont look as heavy as I am, I am 5'3" and weigh 250 right now. I am 40 years old....I know what you mean about wanting to live again! I have 3 kids (ages 9-12) and want to be able to have the energy to get out with them this summer and go on bike rides, hikes, and all the active things they love to do. I know that by this summer I should be down a little more and hoping my energy really kicks into high gear too.
kr8160311 36 Posted February 13, 2012 good luck! I actually read about your port on another thread but did't realize it was you. We are pretty much alike. I'm 5'2 230 and three boys 8,6 and 4. I feel the same way. They all play sports and karate and I want to be able to go there and run with them and cheer them on with the engery I should have. I want to be able to run around the house with them without losing my breath! Good luck on the port and your fill ... So it is true the 1st 6 weeks until I get a fill I will feel the same as I do now?? How scary?? I'm still decideding what my last meal will be how sick is that?? bluetigereyes 95 Posted February 13, 2012 Well, the first 2 weeks after surgery, you probably won't have an appetite and will be on liquid diet, then you proceed to mashies and soft foods for a few more weeks. But by week 4 your appetite is back with a vengeance. I was told to keep a food journal for 3 days before every fill so the dr can see how much you can eat and that helps determine how much of a fill to give you. Hope that helps. Also, after surgery you will have a lot of gas, make sure to get up and walk....ALOT!!! That helps more than you can imagine
