I had my first fill last week. It did not hurt, but the needle got stuck in the port and the PA had to pull and pull to get it out. It felt like I had a cork inside me. It is a little easier to feel it now I hope she didn't mess anything up. She did not want to do a fill because I had lost 9 pounds in 4 weeks, but instead of putting in 4ccs like they usually start with she only put 2ccs in. I don't feel any restriction and I can eat little bits during the day and quite bit for dinner.< /p>

To fill or not to fill.

I feel like I am always negotiating with my NP to do it! But now instead of coming every 6 weeks, I come every 8 weeks. It's a better measure for me because when I wasn't getting a fill, within two-three weeks, I couldn't stay full.

You'll hear it a lot here. It does take time to feel that restriction. I think it was my fifth fill until I knew what it really felt like.

Personally, I think I need one more fill and I will be right there. I have an appt on Monday and I will bet she will not agree with me.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
