dhales 98 Posted March 14, 2012 I just got the worst call. My surgical clinic has had "a plumbing issue" and has cancelled all surgers for Friday. They have no idea when I will be able to go in as my surgeons are fully booked. Beyond upset. Violet - what?!?! That is horrible....especially after you have waited a month already. Hopefully they will work you in priority since the Friday appointments are being rescheduled. Poor thing...looks like we are in the same boat.
gingerwale 8 Posted March 14, 2012 I don't know if anyone else's doctor says this...but i just read in my instructions that I have to drink a warm drink every morning to cut down on mucus and stomach spasms..."forever" it says. Do you guys have the same instructions? My post op instructions say a warm beverage will help reduce restriction and increase comfort if I'm feeling tight. Same concept maybe? neekoal 37 Posted March 15, 2012 Getting banded tomorrow morning at 7am! I'm so nervous, just finished my mushy food dinner (dr wants no solids today) that consisted of scrambled eggs, i figured I may as well get used to them.
neekoal 37 Posted March 15, 2012 I got my surgery time for tomorrow. It's at 7 am. I live 2 hours away from the hospital which means i will have to leave at 3 am to be there for 5 am...... Yikes...I'm a little nervous cause I pigged out on taco bell yesterday and the scale went up 5 pounds. I'm supposed to be on 2 weeks of liquids. I'm afraid they will be able to tell. I think I'm more nervous about that than the actual surgery at this point. I'll be banding with you at the same time Celeste! I think you'll be alright though, there are many that don't have to do liquid only. I only had to be on 2 shakes a day and a regular dinner and then no solids today. Where are you at? I'm in Houston, TX.
HunBun1 0 Posted March 15, 2012 Hello everyone. I was banded March 1st. I must say that I did have a "last meal" before I started my pre-op diet. I went to Texas Roadhouse and got my steak and potatos. Lol. I had to stay a couple extra days in the hospital due to a fever. No fun. Please make sure you walk and use the spirometer becaus they will make you stay. And I also found out in the hospital that I cannot have hot tea... found that out the hard way. Now I am officially 2 weeks post op and am starting on puree foods. Can't wait to have mash potatos again. I was getting real tired of of drinking my meals. Anyway congrats to all who have been banded and to those who have bands to come!!
judych 225 Posted March 15, 2012 Yvonne74 don't listen to what people say, there is always a negative or a positive word spoken. If this is what you want to do then do it. Only you can measure your success and if you have your heart and mind set on it then you can achieve it. You are going to do great. Keep your chin up. Always here for support \ thanks so much girls.. i really draw a lot of comfort from your support. this time next week is my banding day.... wow.. i hope all is well with you there. awescott1 0 Posted March 15, 2012 I was banded on march 9th. Struggling a little with the liquid diet, but hanging in there Only issues I've had are with shoulder pain. Craziest thing but can get unbearable. Awesome to those of you who are progressing on this difficult journey and best wishes for those soon to begin.
