Hello everyone! I haven't been on for a while so have been trying to catch up on everyone! How long are everyones incisions taking to heal? Four of mine are pretty healed, still a little black and blue but the incision on my waistband is still very tender probably from just from my pants rubbing on it. I have to put bandaids over it to be able to wear my pants. I had surgery on March 22....seems like the skin discoloration and the scabs would be off by now??

hi Ladybug.. ive still got some scabs.. most of them are off though. Ive still got bruising around the port site, and im very itchy around all wound areas of a night. i have problems with my waist band as well, even though its elastic. i dont have any incisions right on the waist but close to that area. my pants must all get tighter as the day goes on. i have two larger incisions. on the left side its the port, with lots of bruising around it, on the right side the incision is a bit bigger.. then smaller ones spread out in between the two.

hi Deb... incidently im in the process of adding friends to myfittnesspal and youre there... ive been slow getting around to it.

It sounds about normal for the incisions, but its a pain, lol. especially around the waist area. i dont get my first fill until 9th may. Im a week later than you. its starting to get to me now. lol. winter is nearly here, its way colder and hot meals are all the go. that makes it harder. never mind, after mid next week i can start introducing a little more veges etc to my gruel.. lol. im going to start putting some meat juices in as well as a very little well pureed meat. How did you go over Easter?? was it easy or hard for you??

Judy - Easter went well even thought I helped my daughter with dinner, tough smelling the ham but I didn't cheat on anything. I did have some runny split pea Soup, 1 cup, that tasted wonderful! I figured it was pretty close to the consistance of cream of wheat. How about you?

Judy I think I got on myfitnesspal a long time ago but haven't been on in ages. I do "Loseit" on my phone, which is really handy for me, especially at work. my email though is hammy51@hotmal.com I'll check into the other sometime this week though,

we didnt have any family do's this year. i was unwell with flu pllus my mum is ill in hospital in the city. we did have our son home for a week. it was hard enough to cook for two men though, lol, especially as their food is one of the highlights of their day after working hard. i had some moments with hot roasted chicken and corned silverside... but got through it without cheating. i was just too scared to try chewing to be honest with you.. lol. You did well. it was going to be hard i did think, being Easter. usually we have huge dinners here with everyone invited. lol.

Good Morning Every one,

I need some suggestions for mushy foods besides mashed pots. I've been experimenting this week, seeing what I could eat. Was banded on 3/23. I've noticed my weight starting to creep up slowly and that is a no no. I've been exercising with Zumba tapes for the last couple of days, so not sure if my body is trying to adjust to the minimal food and exercise or what. Any one else having issues with slight weight gain post op after starting to eat more solid foods?

ive noticed that my weight loss has stalled. i see my dietician tomorrow, it will be interesting to see what she says. Ive been having slightly more substantial foods, still Soup but a lot thicker.

Nope. All you need to do is go to friends, add a friend, type in your username (judych1946) then you add the username of the person you want to add ( for example: iluvyogi). It should work. ;)

I sent you a request to be friends. All you need to do is accept or ignore. Please accept ;)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
