endaann 0 Posted April 4, 2012 went to doctor on monday because of dilated esophagus. he said there was not much dilation and that it was not something to be concerned about at this time. port area is very red and swollen. started antibiotics. went back to work yesterday. overall it went pretty well. very little restriction. i can eat pretty much anything i want. i'm not really hungry, but i just want to eat and hardly anything is very satisfying. i was fine with what i ate during the work day yesterday. but after i got home, i just couldn't seem to get enough to eat. first fill (hopefully) is still 2 weeks away, on April 18th. started trying to exercise a little. spent 15 minutes on treadmill on monday. hate to admit that those 15 minutes gave me out, even though i was walking very slowly. yesterday, spent 15 minutes on the elliptical during lunchtime. again, didn't want to push myself too hard with it being my first day back to work. felt good afterwards. may try to do a little of both today. finally starting to feel like i have a little more energy. i work a later shift today. so if i can make it thru this morning at home, then i should be okay with my eating day because i won't have as much time to snack after getting back home tonight. mwest1 4 Posted April 4, 2012 I'm post op day 6 amd been craving pickles and Pickle Juice. So I ate it with no problem is that ok or should I just stick with liquids. How long does the incision by ur belly button take to heal that's the only thing giving me trouble.
ktlynn447 1 Posted April 4, 2012 My 2 week post op appt was this afternoon. I am feeling great and am down 13 lbs since surgery 3/22/12... a total of 38 since i started my weight loss journey in January. The doc said I have probably 1.5-2cc in my band right now so I may very well be feeling resrtiction. My first fill is scheduled for May 2nd so we'll see how the weight loss and hunger are doing by then!
Alerker 10 Posted April 4, 2012 I was banded on 3/20 and I have only lost about 5 lbs since the surgery, everyone else here seems to be losing much more. I am still on pureed/mushie foods, I tend to eat Soups alot could it be the sodium. I'm not eating all that much. So I don't understand why I'm not losing more weight. Anyone else having this issue. Any suggestions??

If that's all ur 'eating' then I definitely believe the sodium most have a lot to do with the small weight loss. Try to stick to the lower sodium ones for a while n see if it helps. MelVan 10 Posted April 5, 2012 Alerker, I feel the same as you. I was banded on 3/21/12. I lost 7 lbs preop and I've lost 7 lbs post op. I walk with a walker and much pain so I have not been exercising at all. I eat about 600 calories a day and my weight loss is so slow compared to other posters. Let's not be discouraged. We all lose at our own rate and we are making progress toward a healthier life. I wish you the best in your recovery. MelVan

MelVan good on you MelVan.. we are all different. im like you, i have problems walking, but for you and i, losing the weight will mean more mobility. thats more than worth going through the banding process. Ive lost about 13 pounds in two weeks. a lot of that was Fluid. in that time my blood pressure has come down from 145/80 to 130/70 . im just so thrilled. So... there are important changes going on in EVERY body here, regardless of whether its seen yet or not. Keep the faith everyone. This surgery DOES WORK. WE all need to make our minds and emotions come in line with the lapband. Im 2 weeks out from surgery today. i weigh myself every morning. i dont think that im going to lose any more weight quickly like i did... but that doesnt matter. Already years are gone off my face and neck... already i can walk with less pain. So.. hang in there. there ARE positive changes going on in everyone... and not just weight loss.
