... this is something i want to know about .... can we have fizzy drinks after surgery at all?? i love zero coke... and other diabetic drinks' date=' not that i have a lot of them but i do have them here and use them daily.[/quote']

My doc says nothing carbonated. If u MUST have a soda, leave it open in the fridge overnight so it will go flat. Yukk! Is that even worth drinking? Warm soda in the stomach expands and can stretch ur pouch. Not worth it to me! But, I have good news. I always find a way around things....lol. How bout a small FROZEN Coke from Burger King, or a Slurpee from 7-11? No carbonation there! :)

No! :( I did request him in the beginning and thought it was taken care of but they never made the change and submitted Dr Benevides <--- not sure if I spelled that right! Lol. I really liked Dr Fox and his nurses are super! I'm a day before you! What kind of diet does Dr Fox have you on? I know he is very strict wen it comes to the type of food he wants you to it which would have been good for me!

I'm not a pop drinker but my doctor says no more carbination of any kind ever. So that's one that won't be hard for me to comply with! LOL

you are lucky then. i reckon thats one item that i will find hard to let go of. i guess it all depends on the dr.. and of course, how much we can handle ourselves.

For the pre-op he has you on the South Beach Diet Phase 1. Basically no carbs, no sugar, no starches. Protein and Veggies really. I have to travel to Austin Thurs night and be in meetings all day friday........not looking forward to the pressure of staying with my diet while away in a hotel. huh.png

Hi All,

I was to be banded on Feb. 28th but had to reschedule due to a bad case of bronchitis. My new date is March 12th in Denver with Dr. Synder. I live in the Denver area and my insurance is covering the surgery.

Dr. Synder is great and doesn't require a pre-op diet.

Anyone else with Dr. Synder in the Denver area?

Lori

i dont live near burger king or any other fast food outlets so i cant buy them... the soda poured over ice and leaving for a moment sounds really good to me.

Sodas of any kind (frozen or otherwise) have a ton of sugar. I'm not saying ANY of it is good. I'm just sayin if u MUST have a couple sips, I would stay away from carbonation at all costs. But that's just me.

My surgery is March 20th! I cannot wait, this has been a LONG year. I had to move the date from the 6th due to some work projects with deadlines, but I wanted to be sure my head was clear and I could focus on myself.

I have started the Protein Shakes, had 1 for Breakfast then regular food for lunch and dinner for 2 weeks, and am not finishing 3 weeks of Protein shakes for breakfast and lunch, with regular food for dinner. I see th surgeon next week (the 6th) asn suspect I will be on all liquids after that.

I ordered some cookbooks from Chef Dave Fouts, my brother recommended them. He (and my brother) were banded so the cook books have realistic and necessary recipes.< /p>

Also, reading Bandwagon.

It is about time I put as much energy into me as I do into my work and relationships!!

Good luck all, and this is a great place for support.
