Guys, I know this may be a silly question to ask, but where is the port located. There is one big scar, 1 medium scar, and 3 little scars. Is the port located where the big scar is or where the medium scar is?

Thanks!

Every dr seems to put it in a different place, mine is right above my larger cut (by my belly button). If you lay on your back and kind of feel around you will feel a hard, round thing, that is your port. My dr says it may move as it settles and you lose more belly fat.

I hope that helps.

Good luck to you on your journey =0)

Mine is near the larger scar. Just under my rib cage on my right side. Like Stacy said each doctor puts it somewhere different.

So funny you posted this question, because for the last month I've been wondering the same thing. I have no idea where mine is. I've felt all over my tummy and can't find it.

I get my first fill on Friday, so I guess I'll find out then.

lay down and lift up your legs, feel above the larger scar and you should be able to find it.

I had SILS, so mine is a couple of inches below my belly button. Don't worry, pretty soon you'll miss not being able to feel it (but not the weight!).

It took me time to find mine. Because I was told below my scar. But first fill, it is above my scar. To which the NP says "that's so unusually because Dr. never puts it up. Always down." So I'm a freak of nature at fill time. ;-p I'd like to ask him if was experimenting with me and his lapro skills! ;-)

I can feel it now when I just pass my hand over my abdomen. And it's great bar trick! "Come feel my port!"

I guess I'll discover it when I go for my first fill. My wounds are still sore so I dont want to feel around for it, but I was just curious to know where it may be because I didn't know where they put it.

Hey! It's usually above the "biggest scar" atleast an inch above... Mine is above my bellybutton. If you aren't sore you can press it and you will feel something hard it's so weird because you can't see it but you can feel it! Lol doctors usually put it above the belly button or on the left or right side of the abdomen...congrats on your band :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
