Ive Been Creeping Around For A While ;-)...

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I finally decided to finally post here..I love love love the support and information on this site. Ive been creeping around for sometime now. I am just getting started with this process. Ive only gotten as far as the Presentaion and this is the 6th one I went to! NOt sure why I attended so many but, I finally chose a Dr. based on information I have researched and also due to the procedure I am interested in (Iband...banded plication). I hope to stay connected and I am sure I will find lots of support here until next time....Keep losing and staying motivated to all that already took that leap. Every moment is a new opportunity to a healthier life....Im excited!

I remember reading that you should go to as many as you want until you feel comfortable with information given.

Hi shy2012..congrats on all the research you have done and your plans to move forward. I have the lband with plication and mine was done on 7/7/11. I am now down approx 80 pounds. My weight loss has slowed a bit over the past 3 months, but I know whose fault this is - MINE. I have been eating around the band and not exercising like I once was. I am trying hard to get back up on that saddle and find my MOJO - my lost motivation...Thanks to the band and the plication, I can only be "so bad" and now go back to crazy weight.

Good luck with your decision and this journey. Don't get frustrated - it can take awhile but in the end it has been worth it to me and I would do this again in a heart beat minute.

Remember, you did not become JUMBO SIZED over night and you won't loose it over night. Just keep punching away at it. Make sure you get support.

@ Bert, I took full advantage of them and learned a lot even though the procedure is the same with each Dr. they all have a different way of explaining it. Not only that you learn so much more because you learn something new from each one...

Awesome results Short and Chunky!!!! You are an inspiration despite the slowing down time!Thats a lot to lose its ok to slow down you still could be losing inches. Im sure you know a lot of times when we are eating so healthy and doing the right thing and losing the weight and suddenly it stops and we start to eat unhealthy for a day. That too shocks your body and we often still lose maybe not pounds but inches! Im sure you will get it together and get back on track. Im scheduled to go to my consultation in March....Im excited and motivated to get myself together!

Thanks for you motivation and believe me I will keep pushing forward even when I feel like Ive failed I will reach out for support!

Happy losing, Im sure you will be back on track :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
