How Long Between Fills?

Recommended Posts

I put off getting my first fill for a long time because I was doing well and didn't think I needed it. Well I finally broke down and got it. In the 2.5 weeks it took me to get in after I made the appt I fell off the wagon and gained a few pounds. I finally got it last Thursday, and I already know one will not be enough. How long do you guys wait bewteen fills??

Initially I was on a 3 - 4 week schedule. Now I see my Dr about twice a year. Quite a lot of the Dr's have a problem with being overbooked so sometimes it is better to make your next appointment when you go for your fill. If it turns out you don't need it then you can cancel.

in the begining it was every 4weeks. After 18 months it became twice a year. Now i have started back up again and want to lose more weight. i am also curious if you can go in sooner than the 2week space frame. i had 1.5 taken out and now i have no restrictions. its been only 6 days and i want more added in. i have an appt. tomorrow, hopefully he will add at least .25cc.. i will be happy with something better than nothing....

Seems to depend on each surgeon, but Elcee makes a great point about booking your next appointment as you leave this one. In fact, that is exactly what my surgeon requires.

i just spoke to the receptionist at my doctors office and explained to her that i just had an adjustment and had 3cc added to my band making it a total of 5cc. on (Jan. 27,2012) i was tooo tight. Then on (Jan. 30) had 1.5cc taken out which is 3 days later making it just 1 weeks ago. She said that my doctor explained to her that there is no set days or weeks, that if you have no restrictions and need andjustment it can be done., i have an appt. tomorrow at 11:45am... target.gif

i believe it really all depends on the practice because I was able to get fills 3 fridays in a row. They told me I could come back in 2 more weeks if need be. I still dont feel restriction by the way!..yikes

Thanks for the feedback! Apparently my doc has a 2 week minimum between fills, so I'm getting filled on Thursday. Very thankful for this because I am struggling!

I don't think I have a set time frame, I usually call when I need one. However, I've learned that to get a specific day I should call as far in advance as I can....I had a fill on THursday and before that, my last fill was in November

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
