Hey fellow bandsters,

I haven't been online for a couple of weeks but am having some problems.

On 1/4/06 I got a fill, 2cc's. Having had little restriction, I got big restriction that has somehow become too much in the last week or so.

My symptoms:

I get "burpy" with even one swallow of my Protein Shake.< /p>

If I take 3 swallows of Water, some of it doesn't stay down

Gas x isn't helping and i have gassy pain throughout my chest and back. Feels like its in my lungs althought I know it isn't.

I PB almost everytime I try to eat solids.

The only thing that I got down last week was a chocolate shake.< /p>

My mother passed away on the 9th of this month and we burried her yesterday. I don't know if the stress has caused my stomach to become more sensitive or if I just need to get unfilled a bit.

I have finally started losing weight, 20 pounds since my fill in January so I am glad about this.

Not being able to keep water down scares me though.

Please give me any advice you have. Thanks in advance.

Darla

Darla, sometimes fills don't kick in until (you fill in the blank). It takes about a week for myself. I would go in for a slight unfill. Limited fluids makes me nervous and is very dangerous!! Shawn

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. Gosh that's never an easy thing to go through. My thoughts are with you. *hugs*

I fully agree about getting a slight unfill. Even if it is the stress is causing the extra restriction, you need to be able to drink and get your nutrition. Don't wait around, go get some relief.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
