Need To Get Back On Track.

Recommended Posts

I was banded on July 5,2011. I have lost 38 lbs total. I have recently lost my job and suffer from depression anyway. My question is what steps have others taken to get back on track? Do I go back to liquids or mushes? I have 4.5 in my band and feel some restriction but man does the bad food go down easy!! When I eat what I am supposed to I can't eat much but sometimes I just need to eat and will grab "bad" food. It is so frustrating!! I also am having a hard time getting motivated to exercise. Thanks for any suggestions. I don't usually post but am very worried that I will never lose this weight.

I have been where you are, and you need to get back on Track.

Go to myfitnesspal.com it's free, and sign up.

You can log everything that you eat, and the exercise that you get, and view other peoples diary see what they are eating, and get ideas for yourself.

I am there, and so are allot of other people from here. So give it a shot. It's worth it

This way you can go back to te basics. for starts.

I know! Depression really plays a huge part of your overall health and I think if I could just get out of this rut I could lose again. At least you are going to the gym. I might get another fill this next week and see if it helps. Thanks for responding. I don't want to be a Debbir downer but I don't know anyone who has had the band done so it help to talk.

It's difficult...I think you need to see doctors, both for depression and then for possibly another fill. I'm not sure that getting a fill will help with the bad foods....I never have an issue with those either!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
