gadgetlady 4 Posted February 19, 2006 I haven't had a fill yet (still in post-op recovery stage) but I do feel what I imagine is like post-fill restriction. Tonight, I want to binge -- AND I'M TOO FULL!!!! I really, really want to sit down with a tub of ice cream or pudding (emotionally) and I can't do it (physically). I didn't eat very much today -- maybe about 800 calories. I'm soooo happy! Looking forward to years and years of this feeling
K@t 38 Posted February 19, 2006 Congrats! It sounds like your very happy with your decision. However I think 800 is a little on the low side. I think most people eat around 1200. Good luck in your progress!
Paulax 8 Posted February 19, 2006 Great post gadgetlady. I am pre op, so it is nice to hear reactions from the recently banded. BTW, love the name, I love gadgets too. The Band must be the ultimate in gadgets.
gadgetlady 4 Posted February 19, 2006 Congrats! It sounds like your very happy with your decision. However I think 800 is a little on the low side. I think most people eat around 1200. Good luck in your progress! I'm not trying to keep it to 800 -- that's just how much I get in in a day! 1 Protein shake w/ 30 grams of Protein and then I just eat whatever is mushy. And I'm full too quickly to eat too much. I suspect as I loosen up the calories will go up.
PhotoNut 7 Posted February 19, 2006 During the first few weeks of the post-op diet I was instructed to get about 600 calories a day. During the second phase I have been on 800 calories a day. (Getting in 60 grams of Protein during these phases can be tricky, but possible and important.) Tomorrow is my six week mark and I'll be slowly moving up to 1,200. And right now, 1,200 seems like so much food! I'm having a hard time eating enough to reach 800! Oh yes, I love my band too!
MyKdsDad 1 Posted February 19, 2006 Susan, what are you eating, sticks and grass? LOL (that's a joke for those with no sense of humor)
PhotoNut 7 Posted February 19, 2006 *tries to look very serious* Well, yes. Isn't that what I'm supposed to be eating?
gadgetlady 4 Posted February 19, 2006 Sticks definitely aren't mushies. Grass . . . hmmm.
