For those already banded, could you give me an idea of your weight loss? Weekly? I know there are many variables, I just want an idea of what to expect. Thank you.

I was banded 12/22/11 and i lost about 3lbs a week for the first 3 weeks post op, and when i started eating regular food is when my weightloss slowed down. ive only had one fill so i hear it gets better the tighter the band gets. I have lost a total of 28lbs in 7 weeks. Not too bad! Good luck!

I was banded on 12/13 and they weighed me just before going into surgery till today I have lost 30 pounds. There is a big loss normally right after surgery then you should start slowing down to around 1 to 2 pounds per week. Just remember some weeks may be more than others and the weeks you don't see any movement check your measurements those are victories too teeth_smile.gif

I lost 23 lbs over all but even though I have had one fill and started jumpin at the gym, the weight still kinda stuck, dropped 2 lbs, since, but not much else, about ready to go on milkshakes again? I know my metabolism is slow and not feeding it, it will just stop burning calories. Been down the same road many times. Only thing I hope, is the Zumba classes will hit that plateau, and crank the body up again. I am so ready for summer, I am non-stop in hot weather.

I lost weight very quickly, 107 pounds in about 10 months. I stuck to a very strict high protien/ low carb/low fat/ low cal. diet. Didn't cheat at all. I started working out about 5 days a week about 4 months post op. That being said, I have gained back 30. I feel like I didn't learn how to eat for the long haul, I was so restrictive. I have since moved to a pretty much south beach diet. The right carbs and the right fats- in moderation. My cals are 1200-1400 a day. That's all I log. I know I am getting plenty of protien- lots of lean meat and eggs, and one protien shake a day. I had the first good week last week in a while- lost 4.5 pounds. My suggesstion is to not rush along this journey. Think about lifestyle changes you can live with. If you do what I did, I realize in hindsite, it's just another diet. As far as my band, I had trouble staying in the elusive sweet spot. I was there for a few weeks here and there. I was pretty satisfied in the early part of the day, couldn't even eat solids in the morning, had a protien shake. By 2 or 3 my appetite would really kick in. I had small fills that pushed me to the other side and I was getting sick even on shakes. Very frustrating. I am frustrated at the weight gain too, never thought I would let 30 pounds creep back on.

However, I am back on track and not looking back. I know it will be slow going, but the weight will come off and hopefully I will have learned to eat the way I need to for the rest of my life- well 85-90 percent of the time anyway lol.

I lose about 2 pounds per week, if I stick to 1000-1100 calories per day. I plateau if I eat around 1500 calories per day (vacation diet!). I rarely eat less than 1000 calories per day, as I feel pretty awful when I do that, but I assume I would probably lose weight more quickly.

On average, about 3 pounds a week. Surgery was 9 weeks ago. Some weeks more, some weeks less, depending.

I lost weight quickly in the beginning because I was dropping Water weight and I was on liquids. The week before surgery I lost 10 pounds on a full liquid diet. Since then I've lost 58 pounds in just about 11 months, which averages out to the recommended 1-2 pounds per week. I've been hitting the gym hard in the past month and while my weight loss is about the same, I'm losing more inches.

whenver I was in the green zone I lost about 6 pounds a month...I have VERY long plateaus where it was hard for me to make the trip to get a fill but once I did, I started losing at the same rate again. PS I never did exercise.

My average over the last year has been 3lbs per week, but i had a lot to lose so intially it was a lot easier, weight loss has slowed right down now and some weeks i lose nothing but i continue on the same routine with slight variations in calories or exercise, i dont have much more to lose now so if it takes another year i am quite happy with that ..

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
