You were allowed to have that in the first week post op? My doc said clear liquids..but then said coffee was ok with sugar free sugar and Creamer, ...then said Yogurt was ok..as long as it was thinned no lumps (so any yogurt as long as it doesnt have lumps?) Im wondering why everyones post op diet is so different.

I lived that first week off sugar free popsicles and diluted apple juice, 1/2 Water 1/2 juice. Also, I know you said you were sick of broth but I found that Progresso has a chicken Tuscany broth that is absolutely the best. I hated plain chicken/beef broth but a month later I'm still having the tuscany a couple times a week.

I had my surgery in the summer, so I pretty much lived off 7-11 sugar free slurpees for a week! SF Jello, crystal light. Try adding different flavors to your broth-lemon pepper, lime juice, cajun season, etc. I only had to do Clear Liquids for a week, and that first week just really sucks, but it is so worth it! Stay strong!

I only had to do them for 3days and then full liquids like cream Soup and watered down cream of wheat the next 2weeks.

When I was on clear I had miso soup to break up the monotony. I just didn't eat the soy cubes.

I am 3 days post-op. I am on a liquid diet for the first two weeks, but that includes Protein shakes, yogurt, fruit smoothies, Soups... anything you could have through a straw, they said.

Then I will move on the pureed foods.

3 days in and I too am over Soup. I look forward to at least getting mushy food...

During liquids I added Salt free chicken flavor spices found in the baking isle. Strain a can of Soup and drink the liquids; have someone else eat the solids or through it away. Taste so much better than broth. Also buy stock it tastes better than broth. During full liquids I bought Pacific Brand Soups and again added the spice flavoring (add before heating and the teeney tiny garlic flakes reconstitute) . Pacific is sometimes found in the Organic section of the store. During mushies I used a stick blender to mince the fruit in Chobani Greek yoghurt. If it's too thick add fat free milk. I added splendra because fat free greek yoghurt is sour (NOT parmagranite has seeds in it).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
